Glucometer Opinions please

Hello everyone!

We've been using a Freestyle glucometer because we had one. However, checking prices, the test strips for this brand seem to be super expensive.

I was at WalMart and found the "house" brand, ReliOn. It was inexpensive and so were the strips. Does anyone have an opinion on this brand or any other?
Another choice would be to buy test strips on eBay for the Freestyle...

Thanks in advance.
Amy

P.S. - I see many of the FD cats are Siamese or Siamese-mix (Revson is too!), is there something about the breed that predisposes them to FD?

I used the ReliOn Micro with my Toddy and it worked great! I tested it against the pet meter my vet had and it was maybe, 5 numbers off. So I felt that was just fine. Something I really liked was that it needed very little blood to get a reading. I highly recommend it!

I use a relion micro, and have never had any trouble with it. the local walmart keeps a good supply of strips on hand too. I also have a nova max plus, but only use that one for blood ketone testing. those are the only meters I have any experience with.

I have the ReliOn Confirm & really like it, especially since I can get 100 strips for 36.00! When I got mine in April it even came in Pink or Blue!

I have a Relion Micro that I use for Maxwell, I love it very easy to use, and since he is OTJ I don't test him that often anymore and I like the option of being able to get very small vials of strips for it.

I use a Bayer Contour for Musette and it is also an excellent meter.

I normally use the Relion confirm meter and really like it. I'm using a Wavesense that Lisa and Do Lou sent to us at this moment but the strips don't 'drink' blood as easy.
