Not sure if this should go in the Supply Closet, but I was wondering how to get another one of the glucometer booklets that you can record BG in. I have two that came with glucometers, but I'm on the last few pages of my second booklet and they're really convenient to record the data on. Is there anywhere I can pick up some more of these booklets?

You can try contacting customer service for your meters. I saw a couple postings online that suggested that and they will usually send one to you. Otherwise you can use any small notebook or just make your own spreadsheet.

Also depending on your meter, you could also buy a data cable and just download the readings directly to your computer. That is what I used to do with my old Relion Ultima meter.

Thanks, so much you guys! Sorry it took me a lot longer to get back on here than I expected (phone issues). I figure if I've got twenty-some-odd more years of this with Mr. Mikey, I'm going to be going through a lot of these booklets! I'd rather not make my own because 8 1/2x11 (even when folded) is still too large to toss into my itty bitty purse, so I'd end up wasting a lot of time trying to trim it down to size, but at one point, I might end up having to do that.

Larry and Kat, I've sent you both a PM with my address. :-D

Haha! If you really don't think you'll need all 19, then I'll eventually get around to using them. If I keep at this rate, I'm going through a book about every 2-3 months, so I'll use up those 19 in 3 years or less. haha_smiley

I am paperless. I use my iPhone and iPad.

I record his numbers in the log book because I don't always have my laptop booted up to his spreadsheet and sometimes there's even a couple of days in a row (usually on the weekends) when I don't even log into any computer to update his spreadsheet. I hate my new iPhone, so even if I could update by phone, I'd probably end up throwing it across the room first before getting any numbers correctly entered into his spreadsheet on there. Plus, it helps me get an idea at a quick glance if I haven't been testing him very much throughout the day (because the numbers aren't spread out over hours) and I record his food and weight in it as well, things that I only put on the spreadsheet if they're impacting BGs for some reason. It also makes it easy for me to take into work and update from my work computer and makes it easy to look back over days, weeks, or months without having to have internet access.

For someone who spends +8 hours a day working in Software, I seem to be a complete troglodyte in my personal life. :?

Does it also download a keyboard with ARROW KEYS for this stupid phone so I can move to the middle of a word or number to correct it instead of having to delete and retype the entire thing only to have auto-correct "fix it" wrong again?

Besides, I don't really carry either of my phones around with me when I'm at home and knowing how featherbrained I am, I'll probably forget my phone (and even where it is) every single time I test him. ohmygod_smile

I just use my iPhone for enter the BGs and dose. I then us my iPad for observations/eating. I fin it very hard to type on an iPhone. I use Apple's Numbers spreadsheet program. It synchronized the spreadsheets between the iPhone and iPad.

I can highly recommend an iPhone app that is free, it's called glucose buddy. Its dead easy, you can add blood glucose readings with times and description of what fits I.e. before breakfast etc. you can also add in food, type and weight and time given. It also shows you a graph of the BG reading. You can print email etc. I have never used the books it so good!

In addition to the SS, I also keep a tiny notebook that I record everything in. I like the mini Moleskine notebooks http://www.amazon.com/Moleskine-Volant- ... i+notebook. I prefer a blank notebookto log books so I can include other notes, too. I bring it to the vet with me and let them photo copy it instead of printing out the SS each time which is a pain because I am always out of colored ink  Like you, I don't always update the SS right away, so when I do get around to it, I can just refer to the nb. Also very wise to have a back up hard copy, I think, since technology can often be unreliable. If the SS ever disappeared or got deleted...
