Getting into the dog's kibble

Hi everyone,

I have a dog related question, but since the purpose relates to my sugar cat Pudden I thought it would be ok to ask.

I am currently living at home with my mother who feeds her dog dry kibble. The dog eats a little bit, then walks away before finished and eventually goes back to eat the rest. Pudden is taking advantage of this and keeps trying to get his uneaten food. Today she succeeded and her blood sugar went up to 422.

I am not a happy camper right now and would like to switch the dog to a wet low carb diet. Dry kibble is bad for him as well, so I think this would be a good thing all around.

I have no idea which brand would be best. I unfortunately can't afford the higher end brands like weruva and wellness (he is a big black lab). Is there a fancy feast equivalent for dogs that would not effect Pudden if she eats it?

Thanks for the help!

Thanks Mogs I will head over there now!

I've been doing some research and looking at the grain free proplan purina dog food. The ingredients look similar to those in fancy feast.

The only other thing I can do is sit with the dog myself to make sure he eats it all, but this would take about an hour out of my day... sigh. Pudden always hated wet food and so I am not surprised she has turned to trying to swipe the dogs now that she realizes her dry food days are over.

Cheeky rascal! :)

I must say, Puddens is a very pretty kitty. She looks absolutely adorable in your avatar photo. :cat:
