I think the bouncing is the worst part of this sometimes. Read snorton's posts; his kitty is doing the same thing. I suggested looking at bookworm's spreadsheet. Cassie has bounced for months but is finally settling down and having shorter bounces and fewer bounces.

Yes, eventually he should settle into those lower numbers and stop reacting to them. For some cats, it takes a long time. I think the record is with a Lantus cat that bascially bounced for 2 years. We'll hope our PZI cats are faster learners. As I suggested with snorton, sometimes if you can feed at that nadir, it will soften the bounce back up. It doesn't always work with every cat, but it is worth a try if you haven't.

+4 AMPS 273

Thanks for the info Sue, interested to see what kind of bouncer George is....or maybe I should say nervous to see :?

I try and feed him a couple times but usually before the nadir as I'm typically not home then, I might be able to do it for his PM feeding though so I'll give it a try. Sometimes it's hard to wait as he "yells" at me for food every couple hours

PMPS 84 - no insulin

Threw up most of food - not at home - husband is waiting a bit then trying food and sugars again before doing anything special :?

+3 PMPS 398

Gave 1 unit insulin to compensate for the jump, definitely hungry again so gave remaining 1/2 can of food - will definitely be keeping an eye on this guy tonight!

+7 PMPS/+4 insulin 148

Fed 1/4 can of BFF Tuna & Salmon. Going to push AM feeding/insulin by an hour in preparation for travel this weekend.

Suannwee, you are welcome to look at my #'s, but they are a sea of red, black, yellow, very little blue and green. Jean Luc barely went under 300 so far today. I think the booming fireworks stressed him last night. He doesn't like thunder either. I am still trying to get below 300 consistently, so I will leave dosages to Carl and Sue. I can reccomend an autofeeder. Thank you to those who suggested it. Below is my experience.

My kitty eats well and the 5 slot automatic timer is a godsend. He gets wellness turkey and merrick bg chicken. I noticed he was pooping a lot when eating the ff classic turkey, so I limit it. With the feeder, he is able to eat at +1.5, +4.5, and +7.5 while my husand and I are at work and it alos allows us to run around and go to dinner-out if we choose. I started using it on a weekend. At first, he watched it like... what is this, there's supposed to be food here. As soon as it turned and made a whirling noise, he leaped backwards in the air and then pounded the feeder with his paws before deciding ok feeder we can be friends. He did this probably 3-4 times. He is now my Palov. Noise = food = quickly trot down hall.

Hope your trip goes well....
