There's a generic brand? Anyone have any experience with it? Know how the cost compares?

Prozinc is a new insulin. It was introduced last spring and wasn't heavily prescribed until last fall. I don't think there is a generic.

Gator discovered that you can order it through Costco at a much better price then through the vet clinic.

BCP would be another very good option to ProZinc - and it cost much less. However it supposedly expires in 6 months but YMMV. So if you are on a low dose it might make sense to stick with ProZinc since it supposedly has a longer shelf life.

You can visit the PZI stick for the link to the PZI Anticipated monthly costs to see the SS I made comparing doses on both BCP and PZI.

You have to call the pharmacy at your local Costco and ask if they carry pet meds. If they carry pet medications then likely they carry ProZinc. ProZinc is the name for it.

The last I knew, the pet meds thing was a test initiative centered out of the Chicago office/area of Costco.

If your Costco pharmacy does not carry pets meds please write them and request that they do. Costco is very good about reading customer input.
