I am just wondering if I can change Moo's shot time by an hour if I slowly do it over the week.
I have to be somewhere on Sat night by 630 meaning I have to leave my house by 6pm. Usually I test and shoot between 645 and 7pm.
Can I do it at 545-6pm? OR do I need to slowly ease toward those times throughtout the week to work to that point?

Tonight I tested and shot right at 645pm. If I do 645am, then tomorrow work toward the 630s, then 615, etc... COuld I get him to be at the 6pm mark daily inestead of 7?

I hope this makes sense.
Thanks!

Yes! Good question.

You can move by 15minutes a shot or 30minutes a day. So tomorrow morning you could do 6.30am, tomorrow night 6.15pm and Wednesday morning 6am and you are done. Or slower if you want.

And then you can move it back the same way.

I've been relaxed in the past with Fred and sometimes was +10 or +14 or anything in between and honestly it did not seem to make a huge difference. If he had a particular high number at PS, I would just wait to feed him a bit after giving the shot.

I know that sometimes Lantus does not kick in for a few hours (is that what you are using?) But that's also not nec correct. My current cat I just saved from the kill shelter, his +1 number one one day was down 43pts--and that's on only 0.5 units, and on another day if was down 28 pts....so by waiting a few hours to feed after Lantus anyway, you can flatten the curve out a bit. (I don't know about the faster acting insulins--probably can't do this)

Unless you have a very predictable life and schedule, it's not always easy to be exactly 12/12...
