Gave vitamin b shot now urine is red

Can giving vitamin b turn a cats urine reddish color the vitamin b12 shot was red. Caught urine first thing this morning and it was alright. Gave vitamin b shot at 10.00 AM and caught urine at 12.00 PM and it had a red color to it . The viatimin b 12 was red in color. Has anyone had this experience? Peg and Toby

I don't usually post on this forum, but I saw this post.

If you are concerned, maybe a call to your vet would ease your mind. B is a water soluble vitamin, so the excess would be sent out in urine. Should it be reddish, I'm not sure.

I have given B-12 shots to several cats and I have never seen a change in urine color. I agree with Claudia. I think you should call your vet.
