? Garfield 4/21 amps 243 +5 30 +5.5 58

How's Garfield doing? I saw the #s in your title and didn't think much about it until i looked at Garfields SS. He's pretty low. Have you re-tested after you got that 30 at +5. Did you give more honey? Sorry for all the questions but, those are some low #s for a length of time.

Is he so low because he is breaking a bounce? So that is a dose reduction to 0.50 for tonight I guess?

Hopefully someone with experience will come along and correct me, but this might still be the 1 unit depot at play. Also, back-to-back reductions often don't hold. But with that drop to 30 today, I'm not sure.
Tagging @Nan & Amber (GA) too so you get more eyes on your condo.

Eeep!!!!!!

I'd take the reduction. A drop to 30 is nothing to mess around with, and he's three cycles into the 0.75U dose, so not much depot left from 1.0U to worry about.

Down the dosing ladder you go, Garfield!

The 30's definitely means a reduction! I'm a little worried you didn't get any tests besides preshots yesterday. I've seen cats dive from black to reduction and back in a single cycle. Neko earned reductions from I think it was a high of 470.

I notice comments on the spreadsheet about head shakes/head tilts. Does he do that often?

I suspect a tumor. I can't afford the 2000$ scan unfortunately. Happens id say once a week. Never lasts long. He scratches his head when he is tilting as well. The ear tilting has been happening for years we checked all the options the vet didn't see anything. We thought horners as well because he has a smaller pupill then the other (that has been happening for a few years too.) He recently starting seizing (its happened 3 times since his first episode, id say 2-3 months ago) so we don't want to medicate yet as the side effects are pretty bad apparently, and well its only happened a few times. Also the test to diagnose epilepsy is expensive, and I don't think its epilepsy as it doesn't look at all like other epileptic fit videos ive seen.
Ill upload his worst episode, he eats during his fits so the vet says he likely isnt in pain.
Oh and obviously every time I checked, it was never a low blood glucose reading :)

I

I just wanted to give him a break and in Garfields case he has never dropped low when starting on a black amps, although im sure that can change from day to day.

Thank you for your help and advice! :)

Yes... with a drop to the 30's, I don't worry at all about the possibility of a failed reduction. Worry about that if it happens, but safety first! You can always go back up later if you need to.
I totally agree thank you! I already know its likely I will have to go back up to 1u eventually but for now obviously I have to reduce to 0.50u. Thanks :)
