Im sorry but im freaking out. Im certain the needle went through ! Im so confused I have no idea why this is happening. . Should I give him a few drops of insulin I can't imagine pmps if he is at 518 right now. These are not normal numbers for him.
In general he seems really fine but he always does, even in lower numbers. Tested on a different meter got 470.

The only thing that was different today is we opened a new box of pumpkin puree (same brand as always) i can't imagine they have suddenly added sugar or carbs to organic pumpkin puree -_-
Thank you

Please don't give any extra insulin! I know it's shocking to see unexpected high numbers. I bet he's bouncing from those lovely greens he saw yesterday. Hang in there! Garfield is going to be OK! :bighug:
I won't ;) thank you very much! I thought for sure I didn't inject properly. He makes me doubt my every move with his numbers

Cassandra, I have been in your shoes, believe me! I have wondered many times if I'd given a fur shot, simply because his BG went *UP* after a shot instead of down - in fact, I was in that same situation last night :banghead: But I've come to realize that it's most likely just the bounce effect (although I suspect something else may be going with Edward, but that's another story). I guess we just have to learn to live with the bounces... and hope that it eventually subsides as our kitties slowly acclimate to healthier numbers.

Im losing hope I think he will just always bounce unfortunately :(.

You might want to update your title when you get a chance - def thought you gave insulin with an AMPS of 35 and was like

I am glad Kat was there for you this morning. Black is the right colour for those numbers, cause that’s what is does to our mood when we see them. It helped me to think of bounces as the by product of the insulin finally getting the job done and getting my kitty into numbers she was supposed to be in.
That's a good way to see it! Thank you

I found a bit of throw up for the past 3 days (very small amounts, a bit of food. This morning it was after breakfast just a bit of bile) should I be worried? Im bringing him to the vet in the next 2 weeks anyways for bloodwork ect. He is eating, no ketones. Im thinking its its because of his crappy bounce?

Also if it may help instead of forcing to throw up (where they sort of force it to come out) it just sort of spat out (not projectile or anything ). Just sort of came out without forcing it.

I just started adding freeze dried liver bites pretty much when he had those greens the other day, he threw up that day. Maybe that is it? I sprinkle crumbs from the bag of dried liver on his food to get him to eat if he is being picky. Just put some this morning..

Cats throw up really easily, and it’s usually not a sign of anything amiss. Maybe Garfield has a hair all that needs to “eject.” I would just keep an eye on him. Unless it gets worse, it’s probably nothing to worry about, which is easier said than done, I know!

He has thrown up more often in the past but not recently. Unless he is super hungry before a meal.

Do you know how to delete an empty line in the spreadsheet? I must of added a line by mistake and I don't know how to delete it.

It's not normal for cats to vomit all the time, so frequent vomiting should be discussed with the vet. Maybe track what protein you fed before hand (type of meat) and see if you can see a pattern. I had a "vomit log":p I shared with the vet. Day/time, type of food.

Haha a vomit log. I think its maybe the dried liver.. because that's the only thing that has been different. Ill stop using it for a few days to see. :) Thanks

Why is his bouncing worse then ever? Because the dose is lower?

I don't think I have a choice but to give levemir a go. Because lantus is just not working for us

Would you be able to start a new thread for this conversation? I would respond about Lantus vs Levimer but this conversation is days old and the thread is too long. How about a new one with today's date? Like this - 3/7 Garfield AMPS 503 ? Time for Levimer??
