Gandalf US 5 months post "pancreatic nodules"

Got a clean bill of health yesterday on his ultrasound! How about that. Paper reads: "The previously described pancreatic changes are less apparent in today's study; the pancreas is smaller and slightly hypoechoic (giving off less echoes) in relation to adjacent tissue. No pancreatic nodules were seen." Changes noted last time included inflammation of the ducts as well. No mention about the ducts, but I guess they're back to normal.

IBD still present, but no worse than previous and his liver is still enlarged and dense. But isn't liver tissue dense anyway? There were no nodules or masses present on it.

He has had a renal cyst for several of the past US's, but it remains the same size/appearance and may be something he's had all or most of his life.

His previous US was less than 1 month post-pancreatitis episode. This one is less than 2 months post his second mini-flare back in January.

Dose reduction worked, I think

AMPS 131, +1.5 155 .5U/splits

Had to do split doses though as I work from 4 to 10 tonight. Tomorrow's AMPS will have to be by +11 at the latest.

Cannot catch a break.

Those numbers are looking better! So glad to hear the US went well.

What did your vet have to say about that?

His liver's always been "enlarged," but I don't think much of it because everything is large with him - even his heart is at the top of the normal parameters - the very top. He's a large cat. So his liver could be the right size for him and look enlarged on US compared to other cats.

She didn't really comment about the liver other than to say no changes. That's what they look for, changes. Like with his pancreas - it changed, but at least for the good!

BTW, he was 380-something tonight. Ugh. Either he dipped from the splits or I didn't give him enough (dropped splits to .5U each.) So I gave 1.1U again tonight with fluids.

And his 1oz of raw mix. He gets 2oz a day and still eats his Friskies tuna with egg. So his appetite is pretty good now.
