I wasn't worried about the low 200s over the past day because they were steady 200s. So I didn't change anything, in fact I've been doing each shot at 8:30 since Saturday morning. The 200s yesterday may have been a delayed reaction for that time change, when I shot so early on Saturday morning. As we note, changes cause delayed reactions which sometimes don't show up till a cycle or 2 later.

He's laying flat out on the deck now. He lays like that now that his BGs are better. Although it looks bad, he at least looks more relaxed. Meaning he's lying flat on his side which to a bystander might look like he's collapsed.

The numbers look great -knocking on wood as i type. Glad to hear he's feeling relaxed. Hey, did you have him shaved? Did i miss that?

No, I still have not decided on it. My main problem is scheduling it. I live a half hour out of town and driving him back and forth for acu is stressful enough and I don't want to have him shaved the same day he has acu, so it means another trip in town with him. I've considered getting a pet trimmer, but I know I could not do it well on my own as angry as he gets and he'd end up looking like some little kid got at him with scissors!

So it may be another week or so before I have it done. Thanks for asking. How's Molly?

PMPS 8:25 122 ~ 1.3U

This could get boring.

No wonder it took me so long to get him back on track - what an odd dose. I was hoping for 1.25U because that's kind of a standard since everyone tries to do quarter units.

I just don't believe that quarter units work for all cats or even most cats on these longer acting insulin, especially at doses below 1.5U.

What I'd like to see instead of the "skinny" and "fat" guidelines are 1/10cc syringes so people could more easily give incremental doses because they could be broken down in to quarter unit doses. Either that or I guess I'm going to have to make a micrometer-in-use video 'cause even with a 1/10cc syringe you'd still be speaking in fat and skinny doses to achieve something like 1.3U.

We wouldn't even have those terms if there weren't a need for those kinds of doses.

Oh, don't get me started on 1/10 cc syringes - something I wish for just about twice every day. OR, I'd settle for 50% levemir - some way to dilute it by half, but then I supposed people would be all confused and there would have to be a conversion table for it. Sigh.

122 is a great PS.

Did it cool off there today. We had electrical storms overnight and then pretty intense thunderstorms through mid afternoon and the temp dropped about 10 degrees. But yesterday my cats were doing that lying on their side thing on the balcony.

Gonna go out on a limb here and state that maybe you shaving the Gman by yourself is not the best idea, maybe.

Chickens eat strawberries ay? So much about farm life i need to learn! Is it time for a pic yet? :-D
