Very pleased with this dose. After going 21 hours without insulin because I went out of town overnight, it brought him down to normal preshot in one cycle. A little difficult to tell if I should increase or not because yesterday was acupuncture and checks past +7.5 would have been inaccurate, but that +7.5 was 165 and I was happy with that. Will give it another day. I might get him below 100 nadir with 1.3U.
It's obvious at this point that he had some insulin resistance from oral bacteria - his preshots are very steady in mid 200s. He's been on the clindamycin tablets 1 week yesterday. I think they provide better treatment than the liquid. After his dental next week I'll make sure we continue them for another 10 days post treatment and monthly thereafter. He's gone too long with poor numbers.
