I am posting this for @Tucker. Patty is back in hospital with head injury she sustained yesterday and can't test Tucker but Kurt can give the insulin.
He has had 4 doses of 4 units and last night he dropped to 175. No one, including me, was online when they posted for help so they rang the vet who said to feed and if he ate well to give the 4 units, which they did.
This morning Patty thinks he was 342 and at +6 he was 306. She is unable to update SS at the moment. It is now 3 hours til PMPS and she has contacted me by SMS as she can't use a computer to see what they should do with the PMPS dose.
I think he is probably bouncing from the lower shot last night, but I am not comfortable suggesting she give the 4 units tonight when there is no one to test Tucker. Her DH gives insulin but doesn't test. And he could well be at the hospital and not be with Tucker if he dropped low.
Is @Wendy&Neko or any other person experienced in dosing able to help me with what to suggest giving.

Thank you

3.75 units wasn't even getting Tucker into blue. I would think 4 units would be OK, as long as Tucker was eating well. It's also much easier for DH to measure if he has to draw insulin doses. And if he has to leave for the hospital, leave an abundance of food out.
Ok thanks Wendy very much. I will tell Patty.

Hi Bron

Thanks for the update. I hope Patty is recovering from her head injury. How unfortunate.

I agree with Wendy. Tucker was barely responding at 4.0. So I would suggest the following:
- 4.0 dosage
- ensure he gets properly fed the same amounts he has been getting

I sure hope Patty recovers from the head injury. That is nothing to mess around with.

Oh my gosh! How awful! I hope Patty will recover soon and quickly...I work for Neurosurgery so I understand the significance of this unfortunate accident! Not a small matter by any means! Hopefully DH will be able to take care of Tucker...and I hope for goodness sake that Patty will be alright...and get to come home soon and that she's getting appropriate care at the hospital! Please send my regards to all of them if they're not on the boards here...we'll be sending healing vines and prayers too! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Lots of healing vines on the way for Patty. I hope she will have a complete recovery.
Tucker will do just fine under DH's care. He will know that he has to!
Please keep us informed, Bron. We hope that tomorrow Patty will be feeling much better.

:bighug::bighug::bighug:s to Patty, DH, Tucker, and thanks to you, Bron.

Thank you Bron for helping Patty and their family. We are all hoping for her speedy recovery.

I hope your kitteh Harry is doing well also. That was a real scary accident.
