I believe I am getting numerous furshots, which is why my cat's numbers are staying in the high 400's. She is very responsive to the Lantus, but it seems I am missing the mark. I am currently monitoring, feeding then giving the injection. Could I give the injection before I feed her? That way I won't have to pick her up twice and I can get both done while she's on the table the first time.

Also, what is the different between tight and relaxed Lantus? Thanks.

I like to make sure Chip eats before I give the shot, or at least eats something even if he doesn't finish right away.

Avoiding fur shots should get easier and you both fall more into the routine. I test Chip first, then let him eat while I'm measuring the dose, then put the pen back in the fridge, come back and shoot. If he doesn't want to eat right away, I open a new can, or do whatever it takes to at least get him started. If they don't eat much or barf after then you have to make sure to watch them close since they might go lower that cycle with less food.

Camille is sure a beauty!
