Woops! I tried giving Mister Mistopheles his insulin tonight and afterwards I felt wet on his fur.... I think the needle might have gotten stuck in his fur!
I know that there is nothing we can do... Just wait...
But still, I feel so guilty.

Been there done that.... it happens and sometimes it isn't as bad as you thought so that is one of the reason we say "Don't shoot again!" Good luck.

Did I ever tell you about the time I got up, tested and fed Gypsy, got her shot ready...and then walked out of the house? Remembered a few hours later that I never gave it. Came home and the syringe was sitting on the counter where I left it! I had even put the bottle back in the fridge!!

Trust me, we've all done fur shots or even more stupid things like me! :)

This morning was rough. His AMPS was 506. Hubby shot 3 units. It slowly went down all day.
Currently it is 212. I just gave him some dinner because we just got home. And then I'm going to test, feed the dry, and shoot probably around 745-8 pm. I know that the food he just ate right now might impact his BG reading, but it was really low in carbs, so I hope it doesn't mess it up too bad.

I am going to ask hubby to shave the area where we give the insulin again. That way I won't be so worried next time and I'll know I got it in.

Hey Jess, as long as you test 2 hours from the dinner you just gave him, the test will be unaffected.

Shaving the site is a really good idea. I did the same for months before I felt more confident and guess what? I sometimes will do a fur shot. It just happen, gosh darnit!
