Fur shot

This morning when I was giving Hidey his shot he started to pull away and got a fur shot. Not certain if he got any. Ive been checking his numbers and AMPS was 443, +2 502, +5 519, +7 564. I've been giving him 2 units 2x a day. I was so excited because we actually hit blue for the first time the other day and a few yellows instead of black or red. Should I give him any insulin now, or just wait till his evening shot? I know with fur shots it's best to assume he got some insulin, but with his numbers so high I didn't know if I should give a low dose. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
 
Just wait till the evening shot because otherwise, you'll be changing your shot schedule to keep to the 12 hours between shots. Fur shots usually clear out within a cycle or two, so you should be back into good numbers by tomorrow evening, if not sooner.
 
You can give it around +8 if it won't mess up your schedule. (as the next shot should be 11-12 hours after this one) Or give it around +11 and not worry about messing up the schedule. No worries; you"ll get back on track with his numbers.
 
Yes, tested for ketones and it was negative. Thank you everyone for the advice. I just worry since he's been in the 500's for at least a month :sad: We're starting to see improvement and I hope it keeps getting better
