Kitties All--
Here comes the Full Wolf Moon, also known as the Full Blood Moon. Although technically it comes on tomorrow's date, it will be at 12:16 a.m. at Camp Stu, so our party will be in full swing then. Besides, I don't think I can wait another night to welcome Gus, who has moved in to take loving charge of our Auntie Ella and Unclie Edward! Don't worry, Gus--although you're our host, you won't have to lift a pawpad; we all know what to do, so you just mingle and have fun!
So let's gather together, sugars and civvies, for the Full Wolf Moon! Of course there will be traditional favorites as purrpared by my mentor, Chef Rusty, and the Kitchen Krews of yore at Wolf Moons past:
Appetizers: Wolfpack Beer; Hot Tuna Toddies with crunchy croutons ; Glüwein; Hot Buffalo Chicken Wings; Assorted Paw Prints Pizzas (with wolf paw prints); Sushi Bar manned by L&L Sushi Chef Tux and featuring fresh-caught, Indian Lake fish.
Entrees: Chef Rusty's Thunderin' Bison Chili; Mousehead Goulasch; Roasted Mallard Duck; Grilled Wild Turkey Sausages; Chef Mannie's Renowned PNW Poached Sockeye Salmon with Catnip Mayo; Fresh-caught Fried Northern Lake Trout; Chicken 'n Biscuits.
Salad: Butthead's and Donny's Marinated Winter Field Greens; Adirondack Hot Slaw.
Desserts: Moon Pies; Maggie's Signature Cheesecakes with Iceberries; Cranberry Torte à la Chief Pastry Chef Tess; Surprise Dessert à la Dessert Chef Sootie; Tobey's Cimmamum Cookies; Chef Stu's World Famous Catmint Parfaits.
Among our newer traditions are Leo's Chunky Tuna and Salmon Ice Cream with Sardine Sprinkles, Chef Felix's Sweet and Savory Crunchy Crouton Toppers, Olive's Shoelaceghetti with a side of pickles, TinySolé's sister Cookie's cod brownies filled with catnip, and PussCatDusty's crispy birds feet served on baked catnip wafers (mmmmm, crunchy!) as well as her sweet and sour skink tail vol-au-vents & freeze dried plain yoghurt balls. You'll find Bella's Catinis at the Tiki Hut.
Taster Blankets are spread for kitties who are grieving and for kitties who are too unwell for dancing and feasting (but we hope we can coax you to have a taste). Taster Blanket Coordinator Idjit and his assistants will make sure you get a warm spot, Taster-Kitchen Liaison Roxie will make sure each taste is exquisite, and Taster Blanket Greeter Olive will be pouring the hot pumpkin rum toddies for kitties who need to "get things moving."
The Taster Blankets are a little away from the dancing and whooping-it-up, but there's an excellent view for the Circle of Remembrance, when the veil thins between us and our beloved GAs at the Rainbow Bridge and we can purrceive them partying with us. As joyful as we are to see them, it's always especially poignant to see our recently GA friends on the other side for the first time. I know China is going to be the belle of the ball at the Bridge, in a gown of sparkling stars....
Don't forget to wear your kittenmittens! It's going to be brrrr! I plan to keep toasty by the crouton oven!
