Yo cats and kittens of all ages

Tonight is a very sad and special night for all of us. We have heard that it is time for our beloved Chef Felix, my mentor and friend, to join his mentor, Chef Rusty and the Kitchen Krew of years gone by at the Bridge kitchen. I know we are all so very grateful for Chef Felix’s wonderful parties and menus over the years as well as his steady and loving friendship to all of us kitties. Please join us tonight to honor Chef Felix and catch a glimpse of him, renewed and strong again, being welcomed by all his Gone Ahead friends at the Circle of Remembrance.

I must admit to being a little nervous at running the pawty planning for the first time, but Chef Felix gave me some wonderful notes to work from, so thanks to him, the pawty should run smoothly. I woke the beans up extra early to get everything started, so we even had time to make our pawty post before they go to work.

It’s pawty time for the Full Beaver Moon! Of course there will be traditional favorites as purrpared by my mentors, Chef Rusty and Chef Felix, and the Kitchen Krews of yore at Beaver Moons past:

Appurrtizers: Moon Microbrews; Moontinis; Pumpkin Soup; Cimmamum-spiced Beaver Chews; Assorted Paw Prints Pizzas; Sushi Bar featuring the specialties of Sushi Chef Tux as well as Chef Neko's fabulous Sushi rolls made with Beaver River Fish.

Entrees: Big Moose Chili; Campfire-Roasted Chicken with Catnip Glaze; Grilled Beaver River Rainbow Trout; Grilled Wild Turkey Sausage with Rosemary and Goat Cheese; Michigans (hotdogs) with the Chef's Special Sauce.

Salads: Beaver River Slaw with Maple Sap; Butthead's and Donny's marinated Adirondack Field Greens.

Desserts: Maggie's Signature Pumpkin Cheesecake with Maple Syrup; Tobey's Cimmamum Cookies; Cranberry-Apple Pies à la Chief Pastry Chef Tess; Surprise Riverbank Dessert à la Dessert Chef Sootie.

Newer traditions include Bubba's MouseMousse; Leo's Chunky Tuna and Salmon Ice Cream with Sardine Sprinkles; Chef Felix's Sweet and Savory Crunchy Crouton Toppers; Olive's Shoelaceghetti with a side of pickles; TinySolé's sister Cookie's cod brownies filled with catnip; PussCatDusty's crispy birds feet served on baked catnip wafers (mmmmm, crunchy!) as well as her sweet and sour skink tail vol-au-vents & freeze dried plain yoghurt balls; Chef Felix's Mediterranean platter with crunchy falafel, catmint mewli-tabouli, and smoked papurrika hummouse; Chieflet Luna's Longtail Surprise à la Rosa and Regan. You'll find Bella's Catinis at the Tiki Hut.

For any kitties not feeling up to pawtying, the Taster Blankets including Olive’s Memorial Blanket will be set up away from the craziness for you. Roxi will be running notes back to me and the Kitchen Krew to make sure the food is as good as can be. The blankets have a great view of the Circle of Remembrance too, and all the other kitties will join you at midnight as the veil thins to see all our precious Gone Ahead kitties.

We’re having a fabulous time getting the kitchen all set up and the food started so there will be food ready as soon as you all start to arrive…and a steady stream of food all night too.

The Krew has decided we would like to carry on Chef Felix’s tradition of having fun aprons for each Full Moon. Tonight we have very special aprons in honor of Chef Felix.

Welcome to the helm Chieflet Luna! We are so very sorry to hear about Chef Felix.. It will be with heavy hearts that we wait and watch for the veils to lift at midnight and see the GA's as the singing begins among the kitties. I know there are many who will attend and join in the feasting and moon watching and most certainly some howling at the moon as it reaches the crescendo...and then the solemn time of quiet and observance of all our precious GA's as they reach across to let those in attendance know they're there and are doing well.

Luci is napping now, trying to prepare for a very late night I assume...I hope she'll share some of the events of the evening with me...but she doesn't really communicate much about the goings-on, seeming tight-lipped about it...

We'll all be there...:cat::cat::cat:

Mama wuz walkin' the drooler this morning, and wondering what the menu was gonna be like for the Full Beaver Moon pawty. She knows how much I like chef Rusty's thunderin' bison chili but wow-eee, Chieflet Luna and the crew have got some tasty nibbles on the menu tonight! Gonna spend some time with my ol' pal Felix so weez can sez our goodbyes all proper ... iz told mama I ain't gonna cry....

Felix is on the other side of the veil tonight. He was planning to stick close to Rusty--Felix is used to big parties, but there are hundreds, thousands, of years of kitties at the bridge! He wants to find Squallie and have Squallie introduce him to Doodles and Alex, and then tomorrow have them introduce him to their mommas, Auntie Lucy, Auntie Karen, and Auntie Jill (he heard that Auntie Jill is a lioness!). Felix is a momma's boy, and he'll be comforted to find such lovable mommas where he is now.

I know he's incredibly proud of Luna, and incredibly grateful for all the love being sent his way tonight.

Thank you all for the help tonight while I get settled in to my new role as pawty planner! The FDMB kitties and their civvie family and friends are the very best kitties. Everyone has been so helpful and welcoming that I've forgotten to be nervous now.

It's almost time kitties - the time we wait for at each Full Moon pawty when we gather around to wait for our first glimpse of the Bridge kitties as the veil starts to lift. Everyone is waiting, holding their breath, hoping to see their most loved and longed for Gone Aheads. The night is still young and we'll be pawtying until dawn after this special time. And now...watch closely as the veil lifts and we can see the Bridge and all the kitties there so clearly. I do believe I spy Chef Felix there with his friend and mentor Chef Rusty, and our own family's GAs Rosa and Regan too. ~Chieflet Luna

The Circle of Remembrance tonight is especially fine because our dear Chef Felix is smiling at us from the Bridge Kitchen. The Felix aprons are fantastic. How honored Chef Felix must be! Krew Chief and Party Planner Chieflet Luna has put together a wonderful menu for the banquet. And, going forward, our new Chef Luna will carry on our traditions with verve and aplomb.
The full Beaver Moon shines down and all kitties gaze through the veil to see their old pals, sisters, and brothers.
Party on! Dance and sing! :joyful::joyful::joyful: :cat::cat::cat:

It must have been a wonderful party, George, Iris, Fred, and my orange Felix arrived back home on the Flying Kangaroos they hitched a lift with Chnoudi, a new friend from Greece ( @Melita & Chnoudi ), They all took good care of her, she's new to these big FD parties.

My gang are all sleeping of their moontini hangovers, I sent some organic catmint so they could make some meowjittos, that might also have something to do with it.
Before they had their naps they were telling me how special the Circle of Remembrance was last night, they all saw Chef Felix, with Chef Rusty close by both were wearing full moon aprons, and busy organising the party at the bridge.
They were very impressed with Chieflet Luna's menu and came home with full bellies.

George is especially tired, he is snoring loudly, still wearing his tux, he's not as young as he used to be. Though he missed singing and dancing with China, he was happy that he caught a glimpse of her at the circle, not so happy though that he glimpsed her dancing with Chef Rusty, and making eyes at Chef Felix.
