I have always kept Kitty on flea control. But, this year after the DM dx and elevated kidney values-- I became reluctant to put it on her.

She has had a lot of conditions the last 4 months-- from DKA, UTIs, abscessed tooth-- leading to a bone graph... The list goes on.

The label on the Advantage states.... Consult your vet before using on aging, debilitated..... If your pet is on any meds.

Kitty is 15.8.

I saw a flea on her last night.

Do you think it is safe to apply?

I wonder if maybe you could use half as much, but might be a good idea to check with her vet first. Also, have you considered treating your home for fleas? Once they get in the house, they are tough to get rid of and unless Kitty goes outside, the problem could be inside, not necessarily just on Kitty. That's not to suggest your home is dirty or anything like that - it's just that fleas are notoriously stubborn and a lot of people think if they kill the adults that's good enough, but their eggs will hatch and unless the carpeting is treated for the eggs and larvae they will keep returning.

Do some searches online, read product reviews for what's safest and natural. Maybe others have some suggestions on what they've used in their homes. Anytime someone's indoor pet has fleas, I consider there is a house problem. Even cats who go outdoors should not have fleas - I treat mine once per year with Frontline, mainly for ticks, but I don't see fleas and I live in a rural area with plenty of livestock and wild animals in the area.
