don't know what else to write about that....hopefully with slightly reduced dose my boy will stabilize.

Wow, that is frustrating, isn't it?

My thoughts are that a) he may need to settle a LONG time on the dose to stop the bouncing, b) in my experience that first high PS after a low (the bounce) needs the full "old" dose, but the next PS you can reduce on. It depends on the high number, but a 400 probably needs the "old" dose. I know you already shot, but info to think about for next time.

The 49 was not too low, I mean, not a dangerous number...but he is responding like it was.

Oh that's a rough ride. It can happen. That is true rebound, not just a bounce.

Good luck with the reduction. But at least it's a reduction! That's good. If you've had trouble getting them to stick, I think you recently wrote that you reduce and he goes higher so you have to increase, perhaps try a lesser reduction than you have in the past.

right.. that is classic. It may not look like it, but personally I actually think it is a very good sign, the best thing in his chart for a while -- his system is "hunting" for the right level, and the fact that one of the options he found in response to 1u is that string of greens, is indication that he still has that memory too. The 411 is just over-reaction. The reason "bounce" goes past where it is aiming at, btw, is that when it responds to what it thinks is too much and it releases all those insulin antagonists to raise the bg back up, it does not know how much more insulin there is to deal with so it goes right past the floor it wanted. By the time the injected or extra insulin depletes, it is a sort of "ooops I didn't need to do all that" experience.

This is the time to reduce, but with a light touch .. . from 1u to .75 is ok, or between the two.

Good luck...
