I'm worried that Frodo's numbers seem to be edging a little higher. At what point is it enough of a worry to restart him on Lantus? He usually comes down some by late afternoon, but today only to 115 from 138 at am. Another factor is that he's on a small dose of cyproheptadine for poor appetite. Today it didn't seem to be working at all until I gave up at 3 p.m. and gave him another 1/4 tab. At which point he ate well, which probably pushed up his am+9 reading. The 165 reading am 10/22 was a bit of a shock - possible that he had eaten some, but only lo-carb food, in the early am.

I don't want to just let this ride, if it looks like he'd be better off on a small dose of Lantus. He's not going shockingly high, but not nice and low either. And I've got kidney issues and possible HyperT to also worry about.

How are his teeth? Any chance he has a UTI? Those are the first 2 things to think about when the numbers start to climb, but it's also possible he's just being a cat....He was just at 93 a couple days ago

Try testing and feeding and then test again in 3 hours....see if the number comes down...that'll give you some indication how/if his pancreas is still working

Was checked 3 weeks ago for "anything that could push BG up". Teeth are OK, no signs of infection. But a somewhat high T4, which is why HyperT is in there as a question. Not on pills for HyperT until we can retest after a few weeks.
