Just want advice on foods for Annie. I;'ve been feeding them only Wellness Chicken, and Turkey. I was looking into the fancy feast pates too and the Friskies Pate. But i noticed on the Friskies Pate it has rice. Am i looking at the wrong kinds? i get so confused when i'm in there, haha. Can someone tell me if these two choices are fine for LC? or is Wellness better or worse? i really want to try them on a new diet.

Thanks

I remember reading about 2 months ago that Friskies had changed their ingredient list, adding rice. That does increase the carb count, so I would probably avoid it as much as possible. Someone else may be able to address the specifics, or you can go to the Health forum and do a search for "ingredients" or "changing ingredients" and you'll probably find it. Good luck!

With Grayson, I learned that in order to eliminate all the different variables to see what triggered high numbers or low numbers (not that I ever saw many of those!) was to control the food - type and quantity. I logged that into my spreadsheet and was able to see patterns for food spikes. I also bought it by the 24 pack at Petsmart, so Grayson pretty much eats FF Chicken and FF Turkey & Giblets (both Classic pates). Every once in a while I'll give him a seafood, but he seems pretty okay w/ one variety. He had spent the better part of the first 6.5 years eating the same dry, so I guess it wasn't too much of an adjustment. Plus it was easy.

We are in Alberta and I found the Whiskas pates to be really great also... I found Wellness to be just too expensive, as we have two cats and they are big eaters!

We use mostly Whiskas (in the resealable plastic containers), or Fancy Feast pates. :)

awesome! yes Wellness is expensive. I tried the fancy feast pates before but wasn't sure about them, so maybe i will get some of that.

i've never ever seen the whiskas pate?
