Went and bought some today and they changed the label, hopefully they didn't change the ingredients????

i ordered six cases and got the new label too this time. it is hard for my eyes to focus in one spot for long but, i don't think i saw anything different ingredient wise, just that new label is 4 calories less.. the very first can i opened, i swore they messed up and it was an extra gravy formula though for it looked just like the extra gravy turkey, the food was about 1/4 inch away from side of can instead of full and lots of dark gravy in it. the rest of the cans after that were normal like old label but, the food does seem a tad bit chunkier/drier in texture to me instead of smoother like old labeled one...could just be my imagination thought, i still have a can of old labeled one to compare with but, i haven't got around to doing so yet.

here's pics (best i could do) of labels for both cans if tou want to compare.

I feed this to my cats - you're OK!!! Just try to balance it with other foods, like Poultry Platter, Country Dinner, Fancy Feast Chicken, Chopped Grill Pate, etc. Turkey and Giblets is good too - try to stick to mainly chicken and turkey. Try to limit seafood, beef and liver - but you STILL can give it, lord knows I do.

Friskies has come out with a "more gravy" pate, from my math it's "ok" carb wise. I still shy away from buying it though, just in case.

Yeah some of the cans seem dry- I add tablespoons to it regardless, always add more water! No matter what. The food is pulled away from the sides, I'd wondered at that myself but again, I add water to their food - but I wonder. Just remember, small meals - not big ones. Smaller ones, if you can. I feed my 2 a mix of Friskies, Fancy Feast, Special Kitty and 9Lives - looking to try and get some Sheba and TikiCat into the mix. Just in case they don't want to eat, I wanna tempt them.

I'm curious as to why you're saying to limit the liver. I read the bottom of the food chart and it said that liver was a good food. Did I read it wrong?

I read that somewhere on here I think, to limit liver/beef/seafood - liver due to excess vitamin A, seafood for mercury and I think.. trying to remember, something about low thyamine? Thy... something. Beef due to digestive troubles if your kitty has them. They cross over (the warnings) into human food for us too so I bought into it as it "seemed" right but now I'm starting to wonder..? Need to do more research. :bookworm:
