Been trying to find a food that my cats will eat consistently. I started with Friskies Flaked Tuna and Egg. They seemed to like it at first, but then quite eating it. My main question is this: Is the carb content of Friskies Shreds Ocean White Fish and Tuna in Sauce the same as the same flavor in the pate? I picked some of the shreds up the other day and they absolutely love it. I have tried many of the flavors on Binky's in pate and my boys just don't like them. I tried sprinkling parmesan cheese on it, but they just lick that off and don't eat the food. I noticed it has much more liquid than the pate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The shreds contain wheat gluten, corn starch, and soy flour, so they are probably medium carb in the 10-15% range.

Many low carb foods are pate-style. There are some that are not. Weruva has a few varieties that are slices of chunks of meat or fish in broth. The company claims all their food are low carb (around 3% or so) but many contain rice and starches. I only fed the Paw Lickin Chicken one and the Mack and Jack one.

FreshPet Selects is another non-pate one. They are 3% carbs according to the Pet Food Nutritional Values Comparision chart.

Have you seen Hobo's Guide to Nutritional Values? It is a more udpated list of foods and inlucudes newer brands of foods that are not on Binky's charts.
