So, Cheeky and I went to the vet on Monday after 2 weeks @ 1.5u BD with not much effect on BG, and since she's going into the cattery on Tuesday for 2 weeks I wanted her to be seen by her usual vet first. She had another convenia shot because I reckon she's brewing something going by her chesty/noisy breathing (convenia has never been an issue for us, she's had it before, I'm fine with it).

Vet says 'going by Sunday's curve, put her up to 2u BD'. I ask 'even with the antibiotic?' vet says yes.

So naturally, since it's only Monday, I decided to wait until almost-the-weekend to increase so that I would be home to watch her.

I gave the first 2u shot last night (Thursday), and again this morning--and tonight, she not only throws a 178 at +11.5 making me stall for 20 mins until she comes up to 229, she only eats half her dinner. So, I only gave 1u=half-dose, as per original vet instruction--and then she throws up 15 minutes later.

And then the vet wonders why I won't stop home testing.

It may be a long night. Thank god I only gave her a half dose.

Thanks Pattie :YMSIGH:

I just tested at +2 and she was 387 so I think we'll be okay overnight now.

Her tummy's been a bit upset for the past few days so it might just all be a coincidence, but this is why I didn't want to up the dose during the work week.
