We have a state fish farm only a few miles from our house, and fishing ponds right across the street where it is stocked with the farmed fish. We don't eat trout, but if my son were to catch a couple, would it be ok to bring it home, cut it up and feed it to the felines?

China LOVES the Fancy Feast trout, so I know it's low carb (7% on the Fancy Feast food)...if you're feeding just the trout, I'm sure it's even lower

now I HATE fish of any kind, so I'm not sure about what problems could come from feeding it raw, but if it's cooked, I know it'd be fine for felines

Raw? or Cooked? Parasites/worms may be an issue if raw. Bones are an issue for the cooked version.
I usually consider if something would be a normal part of the diet.

I wasn't sure if we'd do raw or cooked. Cats do eat fish in the wild, I know, but I don't know about parasites in fish. I know cooked bones are a huge problem.. I didn't know if mercury would be a problem with farmed trout...

I'd want to know what they were feeding the trout and about any antibiotic treatments, etc.

I have fed the fish there.. they are little pellet thingies, but I could ask what's in it. They have someone there on a daily basis.

That's the food. Are they giving the fish anything else, like antibiotics? And, does that matter to you?
