This year so many of my babies have left.......first Radar, then Gypsy, and now my Freon.

Freon was born here on my living room couch, to a semi-feral mom. He was her firstborn, and wasn't breathing. I was sitting by Tortie (his mom) and picked Freon up, started rubbing him, and blowing gently into his nose, he finally started squeaking. His mom eventually gave birth to 3 more kittens, 1 died just a few days after birth, the other 2 I found homes for, but Freon was a special kitten.....he just had such a laid back personality that I knew he was ours.

For those of you that knew my Freon and all the problems he had with hyperT/hypoT, we never did manage to get his T4 regulated. We first tried 1.25 mg methimazole twice daily, but that brought his T4 down way too far, so we tried once daily. That too lowered his T4 down too much, so then we tried .5 once daily. Again, his T4 ended up too low, so we tried .2 once every other day. Finally, we opted to give him a mere drop once every other day.

I had noticed that Freon had lost a little weight, but that wasn't something totally abnormal for Freon. He was 12 years old and his weight went up and down normally. But, this past Monday it seemed like he suddenly became a walking skeleton! I called my vet and took him in to be seen, and Freon had lost over 1/3 of his body weight. Unfortunately, my vet found that Freon had cancer, and judging from his sudden weight loss it must have been a very aggressive form. It was affecting his breathing and his heart. We decided not to put him through further tests and/or surgery, and we let him go to be at peace.

Rest in peace, dear Freon......play with Radar, Gypsy, Care Bear, Cinnamon, Jasmine, and Sam. Enjoy the sunshine, and the butterflies. Just know that one day we'll be together again, looking into each other's eyes and feeling the love flowly. Until then, I'll always hold your memories deep in my heart!

Another special angel just got his wings. Debra, my heart goes out to you......I know how special Freon was. I am sure Radar was at the Bridge to greet him and you have my deepst sympathy on the loss of your beloved boy. They sure do tear at the heartstrings.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful boy, and sincerely hope that your memories of him bring you comfort in the short term, and joy in the times ahead.

I don't know what happens when we leave this life. But perhaps you and Freon will meet again in another place and time. I hope so.

(((Hugs))) to you.

Dear Debra,

So very sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet Freon. My heart goes out to you, and I hope and pray that you will always live with the memories of your boy, and also of Radar and Gypsy. It is so hard to lose one of our furbabies, let alone more than one in the same year.

Bless Freon's little soul, and know that he is now at the Rainbow Bridge with so many of our furbabies, who went sooner than we expected them to.

I am so sorry to hear that Freon passed. He lived a long life with medical problems. How lucky you two were both to find each other. Thankyou for sharing your kitty's story . Rest in Peace kitty.

Debra I just read about Freon and my heart breaks for you. I pray that God will give you comfort during this most difficult time.
With our love
Pace and Frank
