Freeze dried shrimp? Anybody tried this?

Hey all. I was wondering if anybody has used the freeze dried shrimp they have at PetSmart.
Skunky isn't really impressed with the chicken. She's starting to get really annoyed with testing. . . so I've got to start treating her more!

They also had this other stuff - it was pure turkey, it looked kinda hard/crunchy.

I think Marje or Wendy in the TR used to use it or uses it on a limited basis.....

We only post one condo a day in TR, so what you could do is go to your original condo for today, edit the subject line to Freeze dried shrimp? Anybody try this? and see what responses you get....

Once you get the response you need, you can go back into the original post and edit the subject line again to his numbers for the day....
 
Hey Sarah,

Marje was giving Gracie "shrimpies" but had to stop due to allergies to fish. I'm not sure what brand she was using, but you might ask her. They were Gracie's favorite treats.

BTW, it's perfectly okay to start posts here. We try to keep our bg numbers and dosing advice on the single post in TR, but lots of people ask "off topic" or general questions on the Health board. :-D

I tried the freeze dried shrimp with Neko. That's the only food I've ever seen her reject. But she does love the freeze dried chicken and turkey breast, salmon, lamb lung, turkey and duck heart or liver, ..... You can try anything, as long as it's pure meat treats. Orijen also has a line of pure meat treats.
 
I use the PureBites freeze dried shrimp.

Shadow's favorite treats are those or raw shrimp.
Back when we were on the juice, the only way I could give a shot was to have raw shrimp in the bowl with her food. Otherwise she would fight me.

You can crumbled the freeze dried on top of food..... or you can add water and they will rehydrate. ( good choice for cats needing more water)

I found them the first time at petsmart.....
but then I now order them bulk at entirelypets.com ..... $85 worth so I can get the free shipping.

I have it on the auto subscription service and get one every 2 months.

Every time I touch the bag, my droolers come running too.

I crumble the turkey on shadow's food when she needs a little inspiration to eat. Sometimes I just leave a crumbled pile in a dish too.


Shadow has no interest at all in the chicken in any brand at all.
but Turkey has a higher fat content .... most of her foods are turkey based.
 
While Bob preferred fresh shrimp, he ate those freeze-dried shrimp from Petsmart like they were candy. FWIW, shrimp contains zero carbs, which makes them an ideal treat in my opinion.
