Many people want to feed their cat dry food, whether it's cause they won't be home or their cat just prefers it. Wet food is, of course, better than dry. But for those who need to feed dry, what about freeze-dried or air-dried foods? Could they just not re-hydrate it and use as a kibble?

according to Lisa's Food Chart, Primal's freeze-dried is under 1% carbs... and Ziwipeak's air-dried is designed to be eaten as a kibble and is under 2%... So I thought this might give us more options to recommend since the Young Again Zero is only available online.

Thoughts?

As a treat, maybe. As the entire diet, I'd prefer to get more water in the cat, to prevent the possible dehydration which may come from diabetes not yet under control, plus possibly prevent CKD.

We do that ziwi and other freeze/air dried food BUT only as treats. Hydration is already an issue, at least with unregulated cats like mine, that i wouldnt want to make it worse by giving food that has been dried.
