I finally got my Freestyle Optium Neo kit with Ketone strips. My first test on puss's ear droplet gave me an E-3 error, which seems to imply droplet was too small. Wow. It was a good size droplet. Alphatrak droplet sizes were tiny and always worked. Anyone had any experiences with this. Puss did NOT like the big jab!

Were you using the glucose strips or the ketone strips? The glucose strips require 0.6 microlitre while the ketone strips require 1.5 microlitre.

Regarding Alphatrak's strips, they require 0.3 microlitres in comparison.

I was using the Ketone strips. Are there any photos out there of what 1.5 microlitres looks like on the strip. Many thanks!

I found a few online videos showing the Ketone test. 1.5microlitres is a BIG sample.

That is a very handy list of glucose meters. That is a big difference in size. I see that there is a CareSens Dual Blood Glucose Monitor that only needs .5 microlitres to function for Ketones. Anyone using this?

We use a CareSens blood glucose meter and while it does require a slightly larger droplet than the AT II, it is not that much different which was great when we switched. never used the ketone meter though sorry.

For Ketones, we use a Nova Max and the droplet size it needs seems the same as the CareSens
