Hi- I am looking for a meter that requires only .03ml of blood. Has anyone used the Freestyle Lite, and if yes, are you happy with it? I am using the Alphatrak, which I like, but the strips are way too expensive, and I don't want to use generic ones. Also, I am looking for the best lancing device. I really like it to have a clear end like the one I am using, that came with the Alphatrak, but not sold separately. Thanks!

This forum is if you are having problems with the message board. Or things you'd like to see changed on the site. Or for testing some function you'd like to try.

As it says under the title for this forum
"For questions about tech, the FDMB, and for "test" posts to try out functions."

You'll get better responses to your question on the Feline Health (Welcome & Main) forum.
So start a new thread there, for more info.
Or do a search through threads, to find that meter.

Can’t help you with the lancet device because I prefer to freehand the lancets, but I have the freestyle lite and was using it mainly up until recently when I switched to ReliOn for the same reasons as you, I was looking for more affordable test strips. When you’re testing 4-5 times a day it gets expensive! I did like the freestyle lite a lot. It’s small, easy to handle and I like that it beeps to let you know it’s got the result. The most affordable site to order the strips from that I found is affordable diabetic. You get 5% off of you sign up for autoship or use the code SAVE5. I have to say their customer service is also amazing. I called because I got different results on both meters and she walked me though I few things over the phone and then just sent me the calibration solution and a new meter and new test strips for free!

having said all that, I’m very happy with the ReliOn. I was intimidated at first and I also wondered about the .3 versus .5 difference but it works every time. I’ve had no issues getting enough blood for testing
