For the people here who use a continuous glucose monitor do you have to shave your cats fur before you put it on and what is the best spot to put it on?

Hi Elena,

Yes, you have to shave the fur as close to the skin as possible as the adhesive won't stick to fur and added a few drops of VetBond. The last time I used it, I put it on my Ruby's neck and used a Kitty Kollar to cover it. That way she couldn't scratch it off with her back paws. Here's a video of her with the Kollar on.

Here is a link to a discussion of the Libre with a demonstration of how to put it on your cat: https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB...stration-explanations-tips-discussion.221630/

The sensors can only be obtained from a pharmacy with a prescription, at least here in the United States (I don't know where you are located).

You should be able to get OJNE Libre2 sensor and reader by going here.

I got one free. Really you get a coupon you give your pharmacist. You might not need a rader if you have a phone compatible with the app for the Libre2. When I got my free sensor and reader the app was not yet released.
You could also get the older Libre 14day but you have to fib unless you cat is 18 years or older.. You fill out the form with you being a caretaker but do not say for a cat.
