I have totally gone to the U100 syringes and have 27 U40 syringes left that I will send to anyone needing the syringes. I know it's not that many, but for someone struggling, any amount helps. Please PM me if you need them. No charge. :-D

Re: U40 Syringes

Thanks, Sue! I've been pretty happy with his numbers, except when he finds a morsel or two that sends him flying high ohmygod_smile He's like that, you know. I've a non-related question. One of his brothers has been off his food the last few days, and he seems a bit skinnier. He use to eat just fine. He too is outside in the summer quite a bit, so he could be eating more "natural" meat (eg; mouse). I recently wormed all three kitties. He is 13 years old, but very fit. I even tested his BG (he did pretty well for the first time  ) and his BG was 65, so I know he doesn't have diabetes. He ate a little more today, especially when I hand fed him his last few bites. He doesn't seem lethargic, so I'm wondering if he is just overactive when outside? Should I consider a higher carb food? (all three are on the same LC as Tommy). I know it's not an emergency, so I can wait to take him into the vet, but I thought I'd see if you have any thoughts about this. Thanks for any input. ;-)

Re: U40 Syringes

Weight loss plus lack of appetite = vet visit this week.

Here's why.
Renal disease, bad teeth, hyperthyroidism, and cancers can present this way, among other things. Some of those are very treatable. Some of those may be painful or leaving the cat in a sick feeling state.

Rather than higher carb food, look for higher fat. Fat has 8.5 calories per gram (for cats) and carbohydrate has only 3.5 calories per gram, so it will be easier to take in more calores with higher fat. Ex Wellness Turkey & Giblet.
