3rd day of 1.0, doing fine. I checked him at +4 (1:00 am) and he was @ 72...he surely went lower after that but mama crashed so IDK. He's doing very well. ...loves the Friskies pates 5.5 oz can @ 7/8 carbs..... he eats 1/3 - 1/2 can at a time....or I leave out a whole can, when I'm at work.

Chris & China I don't understand diabetes very well, since I've just been a sugar mama for a few months now, but why isn't China in remission? Her SS has some great numbers.
 
Not all cats will ever go into remission.....the aim is to keep them "Tightly Regulated" which is what China is right now....she's as healthy as she can be, but if I tried to reduce her, her numbers would go up

It's not impossible that she might go OTJ at some point, we've had cats that went into remission as long as 5 years later....but the facts are that most of the cats that are going to go OTJ will do it in the first 6-12 months

It could be she wasn't diagnosed soon enough and the beta cells that produce the insulin in the pancreas were all destroyed and won't ever heal, or it could be her genetics ....or any number of things

At this point, I just want her tightly regulated so she's not doing any more damage to her internal organs and can stay as healthy as she can...even being diabetic for the rest of her life.
