Panreatitis, information, symptons, treatments etc
I had him in for a check up last week and everthing came back fine, except of course that he is diabetic.
I brought him back to the Vet this Sat as he was acting wierd, (looked like he was too low and siezing, however I tested him he was over 300) his BG has been thru the roof 400 to 500 the past few cycles, up from the hig 100's to low 200's, and had hardly been eating. He came back (my Vet's, Vet on Staff checked him out) and he came home OK. Since Sat, he had missed 4 meals, and his BG has still been very high. Back to the Vet he went this morning.
Frankies Vet, believes he has Pancreatitis and is running tests to confrim his suspicion.
What are the symptons of Pancreatitis?
What is the treatment if any and how does that treatment integrate with a diabetic cat. (Ie medz with steriods are I know a no-no)
Is pancratitis, a short term condition, with a cure or like diabetes which needs to be managed continually over time.
Are there any articles that you know of that contain any insights into this.
I'd rather err on the safe side and if he doesnt have Pancreatitis, I've only spent time on reading up about it. If he does have it, then when de comes home, I can do what needs to be done to take care of him.
