I found an article by some dietician I follow that says okra may help lower diabetes.
Has anyone heard this before?
Anyone tried it on a cat? (The studies in the article mention rats)
Can you see any cat risks that people looking for human use might have missed?

Idk about giving Fabby okra, but my non-diabetic self might just start eating it more often.

Hmmm - would my cat even go near Okra? It is slimey! I love it in my vege soups, stir fry veges & of course deep fried from the appetiser menu! My mom made the best fried okra with bacon grease, corn meal & a little flour! Yum - miss my momma! Worth a try- never knowLet us know if you & your Fabby like it!
Baby isn’t keen on many human foods. Cheese (only stinky kind) & licking the goody off of Doritos. If I get out some Doritos she begs & paws at the bag. (Which otherwise doesn’t happen) js :)

It said in the article that okra powder exists. I think it might be easier to feed it to Fabby if I sprinkle powder on top of her food, lol.
I have some fresh/frozen in the freezer... I'll see if she likes it next time I make it and report back. Lol.

Are you guys talking about that green stuff I see in "salads". Apparently there's a whole aisle of this stuff at the store, next to the aisle with pizza and French fries. There you go; fries made from potatoes, ketchup from tomatoes and pizza with extra cheesy goodness.

Don't forget chocolate! It's a vegetable.

:) Sorry, couldn't resist...

Don't know if it will do anything for diabetes but it does wonders for my belly...YUM! Any way it's fixed!

If veggies and fruit are so good for you then why;
-can you go bananas
-be nuts
-does no one wants to be pear shaped
-do boxers have cauliflower ears
-does lettuce have the nutritional value of newspaper
-do potatoes grow eyes under the sink
Don't forget chocolate! It's a vegetable.
That white Lindt chocolate is the first thing I'd stock up for if the Zombie apocalypse comes.
Who needs porn when there's bacon? And not turkey bacon! Like I told my nieces, it's a pig's bum. Kids should know where their food comes from don't you think?
And the number one food group? Hmmm, sprinkles!

Yum, love okra both to eat and to grow. It has beautiful flowers! Never heard of it helping diabetes...

Yes we always have okra growing in our garden!! Very unique plant! Good vege! Not in salads ever but... stir fry with mushrooms - zucchini-tomatoes!!! Yum. Haven’t had fried sinc mom. My son made fried green tomatoes this past summer & they were delish!!
Then for desert the hot fudge brownie sundaes! With cookies & cream ice cream!! Home made brownies - as in box of Duncan Hines! Maybe 2! I’m told to eat more constantly from doctors, kids etc...I love food -

For the zombie apocalypse (picture this) we need treadmills lined up outside our homes!! Going nowhere slow & no brains!! Eat your Lindt in peace ! Bacon rocks - only soft sprinkles, not hard ones; yech!
