Coming to the experts for recommendations. My civvie Trip had always been picky with food. Took 3 yrs to get her off dry food. When clean protein came out she got 1/8 cup at night. But hubby started letting her free fed on it. Learned she is allergic to it. YA gave all my cats digestive problems even after 6 weeks.
She is drinking ton of water, lost over 2 lbs in very short time (Tux is cuddling with me so can't get up and look). Lost some muscle.
Just got call from associate vet regarding labs done on Tuesday. Results are pretty normal. Thyroid, kidneys, phosphorus normal. Some minor values a bit elevated like cholesterol and triglycerides. Some point to slight dehydration (no way will she sit for fluids). But Dr sees nothing concerning. Will get copy Monday.
She won't eat anything but ff beef now. Trying a new fresh pre portioned food for her to gain weight, so far no luck in her eating it.
I know dry food is a big no, but she needs something to help get weight on her (I will be in control of it this time). Soooooo what would be a good dry food I could give a tblsp a day to her, that won't compromise kidneys. Or maybe I should just give kitten pate if I can get her to eat it. She is allergic to pork, milk, soybean. Will not touch liver, chicken, rabbit, venison pate. Will not eat shredded or chunky food. Nor raw. Told you She was picky. She did like freeze dried rehydrated for awhile but it's not enough calories and now turns away from it.
Any suggestions?
