Not to bore you
But if you kindly one more time tell me the best food for Foxie
I buy fancy feast ,tiki chicken
And try to get the best diet for her.
My vet want me to feed her twice a day only
Can I give her something in between meals
I stop dry food completely
Should I give her a kitten food
Occasionally ?
Thank you

Any canned or raw food that's less than 10% carbs is good for our sugarcats. Most foods available in the US are listed on Dr. Lisa's Food Chart, so just look for foods under 10% carbs (column C)

It's actually easier on the pancreas to have several small meals instead of 2 big ones. Just like humans, it's better to eat small meals several times a day, so you can feed her in between shots if you want to! We just don't want them eating for the 2 hours prior to shot times so that when you test, it's not a food influenced number

YES..stop the dry completely! Not only is it high carb, the more water we can get into our sugarcats, the better! Again, lots of great info on Dr. Lisa's "Feeding
Your Cat: Know the Basics of Feline Nutrition" website

I agree, stop all dry food intake. My cat receives insulin twice daily. However, feedings her twice daily really stressed her to the point that I could not control her sugars. I now feed her 5 times daily. Smaller, more frequent feedings seem to really keep her satisfied and her sugars more stable. Just remember thaat each animal is unique...trial and error will help you to develop that right schedule for your baby. Good luck from jane and stewey
