Hi There,
I am new to this site! I feel relieved to have a place I can go to get some help!
I have a diabetic cat that has been on three different insuline's since Feb. It's been quite the whirlwind to get him regulated. Currently we have him on Lantus.
We are using a Hills M/D dry food 1/2 cup with a 1/4 cup of Instinct's original grain free pate Chicken. This was ordered from our vet, as we had tried a higher protein canned food before along with a raw chicken diet and his numbers seem to stay in the 500 range or higher. The amount of insuline has changed as well.He was on 6 units of Lantus which spiked his numbers over 750. So, we have backed down to the 1unit of Lantus and plan to check his blood sugar tomorrow.
Do you have recommendations for a low carb. high protein or high fiber wet food that seems to work for diabetic cats? Our cat has lost a lot of weight as well, so we are looking to bulk him up.
Thanks for your help.
Cindy
