Just checking with the experts here.... Sammy has gone on a food strike today. She refused her breakfast and has only sniffed at food all day. I skipped her AM shot for that reason. Am I on the right track? Secondly... how long do I let her pout about food before I do something, and what would I do? Advice please. confused_cat confused_cat confused_cat

i wouldn't let her pout come dinner time.

no insulin, no food, etc.....is setting up for ketones so if she's pouting tonight, i would suggest trying every trick known/suggested to get food in her so she can have her insulin too.

is she otherwise acting normal? if she is still pouty this evening about food I would also probably consider getting her checked by the vet tomorrow if at all possible because if she keeps it up all weekend you could be looking at problems in no time

Are yo checking the urine for ketones? She have high BGs. Ketones can cause a cat not to eat because they feel bad. I would check the urine for ketones since if present the a vet visit very soon is called for.

I pulverized a few cat treats in the blender and mixed into her food. She is chowing down now.
