No one here has steered me wrong and you all are a fount of information, so I thought I'd ask before doing tons of research on my own...

Where do you shop online for diabetic canned cat food that has the best deals? I'm still experimenting to find out which foods my cats will like the best & will eat, so have shopped locally for just a few cans of some different varieties so far. Once I know which they like the best, though, I'm interested in shopping online wherever I can get the best price! Any ideas or suggestions out there?

The shipping costs are what will inflate the price quickly. Try to find places that give you free shipping with a minimum order amount.

Maybe you could list a few of the foods your cat likes and people will give you some ideas for shopping.

Personally, I feed mostly Fancy Feast classic pates and Friskies pates. Shop at Walmart about every 4-6 weeks and stock up on cat food and cat litter.

I have gotten some mail order from Chewy's on some treats, Halo, Pure Bites. Good service. Prices ok. Look for the sales. I live close to the NH border, no sales tax so shopping in person actually saves me a bit of money over ordering on-line.

Gotcha Deb. I'll post again when I know for sure which foods both my cats like to eat. I'm shopping for one food that will serve both needs - one diabetic & one with low phosphorus in food needs... Locally I can only find a few types that will work for both & they aren't loving the first type I've given them - Friskies Special Diet in 2 different flavors. I don't want to buy big cases online without knowing they will eat it. Dilemmas! LOL I'm not shopping immediately - I have enough with me now to feed them for a week or two - but I was trying to plan ahead! I'll check out Chewy's when I get a chance & see what I find. Thanks for the tip!

They both seem to enjoy Max Cat foods the most out of the wet foods they've tried so far. If anyone has advice were the best shopping deals are for this brand (especially online), I'd appreciate the input and advice! Thanks.

One online retailer I've been using is www.petfoods.com - get on the mailing list and you will get email coupons/deals and if you sign up for auto ship, you will get a discount for that too. They do have a min $ to spend to get free shipping. If you are buying cans, that is a help.

I have mainly been getting the Stella & Chewy's freeze dried raw cat dinners from them. http://www.petfood.com/item/stella-and- ... od/498360/

I find with the auto ship, they are the least expensive for this product and it comes in several flavors.

I know it's low carb, but not sure about phosphorus level.

When I was dealing with that, I found that the friskies special diet seemed to work - I mainly used the turkey & giblets flavor. I got it at pet smart and tried to catch a sale and use coupons. If you call purina and tell them that you want to try it, they may send you coupons.

It will all depend on the food and which place is offering an extra discount when you need to order.

I order from both petco.com and petfooddirect.com. I am registered at both sights and get notices of discounts. Before I order, I fill carts at both places and see which is cheaper with the applied discounts.

Right now petfooddirect is offering free shipping.

It seems to me that food I've bought in the past is similarly priced across websites. I buy from Wag.com (be sure to use the affiliate link at the top of the page) because they have insanely fast shipping. I've ordered stuff on a Sunday night and had things by Tuesday. Shipping is free over $49, and you can combine that across their "familyhood" of sites, so you could buy $20 of food from Wag.com and $30 worth of laundry detergent or something from Soap.com and it all goes towards the free shipping total. They are owned by Amazon if that makes a difference but ordering from the Amazon site isn't included in the $49 shipping deal. Amazon Prime doesn't work on the site but the shipping is just as fast.
