Does anyone feed Nature's Variety Instinct Rabbit formula? I have a can but cannot find any carb info. The label says it is
grain free. I also have a can of Duck and green pea Natural Balance (Dick Van Pattens) and can't find any info on that line
of food either.
Thanks

Re: Food Question Natures Variety Instinct & Natureal Balanc

I've given this to Bandit before when Gabby wouldn't eat it anymore because of her cancer and it's ok for diabetic cats...I think I actually got slightly lower numbers with him with that food than I did with fancy feast. The Lamb and Venison varieties were ok, too. Because Gabby went through so many of those types of food and didn't finish the whole can when she got picky, I would give them to Bandit as long as the list of ingredients did not contain any grains (some of them have brown rice as an ingredient). I believe I gave him the Nature's Balance Venison and pea too when she wouldn't eat it anymore and it was fine for him.

Check the ingredients..I've found with all of those high end foods that as long as they don't contain any rice or potatoes, then they are low carb.

Baby LOVES the Rabbit.. no concern with her #s either.. I would not feed the green pea though.. I seem to think that one is higher carb content.. but have no data to back that up so I could be wrong. However, her sister Sadi LOVES the green pea!

posting from my phone, so it is hard for me to link, but I contacted natural valance not ling ago, and their foods are pretty high carb, and their rep even said they weren't appropruate as a peimary food for fd kitties. if you search, I posted snippets of the emails.

good luck!

Nature's Variety is on the "old" chart: http://binkyspage.tripod.com/CanFoodOld.html The old chart hasn't been updated to reflect that the grain-free NV is now called the Instinct line. Rabbit has 8% carbs.

I really couldn't remember if that was one I let Bandit finish or not...if it had anything I identified as a starch in it, then I didn't. There were soooo many different foods we went through with Gabby's tumor. I pretty much picked up one of everything every time I went into the store.

I definitely remember giving him the Instinct Rabbit, Lamb, and Venison though, and his BG being fine.
