my kitty has kidney disease and the vet prescribed hills rx diet k/d. It's over $2 a can at the vet. Anyone know of a cheaper place to get it? The hard is cheaper but he won't eat the hard. He's 19 years old. Wondered if anyone knew of a cheaper online option.

They have it at Chewy.com. You can also check Pet Food Direct and Amazon. When we were feeding it to Keno we got it at our local SPCA a bit cheaper too. The vet will definitely be the most expensive.

Is your kitty diabetic? Hill's k/d is very high carb - over 30%. We could not get Keno's diabetes regulated on it so we are now on Wellness Core Beef, Venison & Lamb. It is 85% phos, a little high but acceptable for the stage of her kidney disease. You can also consider using a higher phos food with a phos binder.

Are you new to having a kidney disease kitty? There is a very helpful Facebook group and Tanya's site is a wonderful resource as well.

Ah do you know the name of the Facebook group?
Tommy doesn't have diabetes. My other cat did and I just knew the members of this page were prompt and helpful.
