Is there any good natural or freeze dried food available with the appropriate amount of moisture and carbs? It's been since December 2016 and she has not been regulated. We are on her 3 insulin. She will eat freeze dried. I am looking for recommendations.

thanks for your help

There are a lot of freeze dried foods that are low carb but none has adequate moisture. Primal Freeze Dried nuggets are one choice. She'd need a lot of extra water. There are also two low carb kibbles available online: Young Again Mature Zero and Dr. Elsey's Clean Protein. Both companies will send you a free sample to try.

We can try to help you get her better regulated if you like. Let us know. :) I know how hard it can be - my guy is on his third insulin since 2016 too.

As Kris said none are moisture based but you can ry to moisten them. I personally like Momentum FD.
Wildside Salmon has good treats too.
I use Dr Elsey chicken (under 5% carb) and sometimes salmon (under 10%)
My boys and my fosters all over it no vomit or runny poo.

we switched to vital essential patties with tux in beginning but, like all freeze-dried it lacked moisture and he would only eat it dry but, you could mix some in with some canned wet food for some moisture if your cat will only eat it dry too.

My picky boy loves Stella and Chewy's freeze dried, especially the Chick chick chicken and Duck Duck Goose flavors.
my boy use to love the duck duck goose too, it was all our raw freeze-dried lovers favorite brand & flavor but, unfortunately that is one freeze-dried brand that i didn't realize was high in carbs back then, over 20% :(

Ahhhhh that explains Angel's high numbers today. Drat. Although he goes equally high with Primal. At this point, though, we really need him to eat :(.

I sing the praises of Young Again Zero all day long. I know it's dry food, but he was in the 300s eating the Hill's MD the doctor recommended so I did my own research. YA claims 85% of cats on it go into remission. I didn't believe it, but my boy has been on it since July and he's been testing in the 80s on the Alphatrak since then without insulin. (Sometimes 90s but never above 100).
