Food for outdoor civvies

Both of my outdoor cats are a little chunky, and the last one, Fred, to visit the vet was considered a 1 1/2 pounds overweight. I've switched Fred completely over to wet food and he spends the night and some of the day inside. However, the other one, Jake, is just a wee bit overweight, so I'm feeding him for the weight he should be which I'm guessing is about 11 pounds. He gets kibble in the morning and canned at night. He has a nice warm house with lots of blankets, but he's also been known to burrow into the haystack. With it being winter, how much (%) should I increase his calories?

Thanks for the article! Jake will come in on the nights it gets really cold, but he unintentionally intimidates the other two. If my husband agrees, I'll leave the other litter box in the bathroom for him to be separated. He'll be pleased to find out that I'm increasing his food.
