Food dilemma & question

I'm having an odd food/cat issue...

We've always fed Ru & Midgie (her civvie) in the same spot in the kitchen. The past few days, they're not so keen to eat there. If I move their bowls someplace else, they eat better, but still not quiet as eager as usual. I've tried a couple of flavors and nothing makes them shove their face in the bowl and nom like crazy. They're acting perfectly normal in every other way. I've done spot testing on Ru and she's always around 100 on the AlphaTrak.

I've seen a couple of people mentioned that their cats are suddenly refusing FF lately. My girls aren't refusing it, they're just not as interested.
I'm thinking about trying some Grreat Choice, to see if that makes a difference.

Are the numbers and names on Janet & Binky's list for Sophisticat still accurate for Grreat Choice?

The flavor and texture may have altered due to the company altering the mix.

Because they can use the "no less than, no more than" in describing the ingredients, they can adjust the mix based on what is available ... and how much it costs them.

Its more than one flavor, which is odd...Beef & Chicken, Beef & Liver and Chopped Grill. I wouldn't be that surprised it was just one of them acting weird, but its both of them. With all of the recalls in the news lately, it makes me nervous.

I mopped the floor where the bowls sit with plain water, thinking maybe something smelled funky there and that's why they would eat if I moved the bowls. I also just wash the bowls with plain hot water.

It would make me nervous too... there were a couple of occasions when Saima wouldn't eat her normal food when we opened a new bag (unfortunately we were feeding dry then). She was interested in eating and would even pester us for food, but she would sniff and walk away from the dish once she saw what was in it. I always assumed there was something wrong with that particular bag and would throw it out, and I believe every time she ended up eating from the new bag with no problem. (I didn't really even want to buy that brand of food anymore, but there was so little she could eat for various reasons that I didn't have much of a choice.) I wonder if you could find cans from a different lot and give a couple of those a try, if you don't want to try a different brand? Of course, it could also be the new recipe as you mentioned.

I don't mind trying a different brand. We went thru all of the Merrik, Wellness and Blue awhile back and never found a flavor they really liked.

That's where my question comes in on the Sophisticat/Grreat Choice flavors. Are the numbers and flavor names from Janet & Binky's list still accurate since they rebranded?

It didn't seem to affect Spitzer one way or another.

The new version is more mushy and my clouder prefer an 'al dente' texture.
