I posted yesterday about my cat who has stopped eating his normal food (Fancy Feast Classics). Over the past few days, I have been experimenting with 3-4 different types of food to try to get him eating again. I think we finally settled on Fancy Feast Chunky Chicken and also Healthy Indulgence by Wellness. He's finally eating normally again which is a relief.

But this morning there was diarrhea in the litterbox.

Is this normal? Any advice?

Is the chunky chicken low carb? That's beside the point. Sure, I think any food change can upset the stomach. But there are some foods that are are common offenders. I'm not real "up" on the food sensitivity issues, but I think that beef is notorious for stomach upset. I'm sure the others will chime in with some other foods that may be the culprit.

It can be normal with a food change, and if that is the cause it might take a few days to clear before the stool becomes normal again.

Good that he is eating again.

I did check Janet & Binkys page and it said the Chunky Chicken Feast and Chunky Turkey Feast both have 5 grams of carbs. I thought that was good, right???

Also--he did not urinate at all yesterday. I'm guessing that's maybe because he might be dehydrated.

This little guy is making me crazy right now!!!

If your cat is not eating well, has diarrhea, is dehydrated, it may be an idea to have your vet take a look-see.
Many people would be concerned about insulin and no or little food in system.
Do you have fluids at home to give if dehydrated?
Have you tried syringe feeding?
