Bandit had her dental on Wednesday. The vet said her teeth were in good condition and only needed scaling. No extractions etc. However, no pre-dental x-rays were taken. So only visual inspection.
Bandit seems to be experiencing some loss of appetite after the dental. She's eating only 60-65% or so of what she was eating before. The vet says to leave her be since her gums might be sore from cleaning below them.
Her number are also running much higher than before. Wondering if it's a failed reduction (I took one the day after the dental when she dipped to 43 despite a skipped shot!) or whether there is anything else at play.
Her spirits are okay. She's pooping okay. Not in meatloaf. No vomitting. Drinking water. Of all the symptoms of pancreatitis, she is only displaying some lack of appetite.
I feel like she's associating the food with the disorientation she felt with after the GA. I'm sure she would gobble down the HC kibble she loves if I were to offer it to her. But that would make it even more difficult to get her back to eating her LC food.
I have very few food options to tempt her with. She doesn't like wet food, wouldn't even look at cooked chicken or boiled egg and we don't get baby food here!
I'm thinking of taking her dose back up but with her not eating at normal levels, I'm wondering whether to just let her run higher till I figure out what's plaguing her.
Any thoughts on what could be the problem?
