Would like to get my cat off Purina DM wet and dry; also like to get him off of Friskies treats after he takes his shots. Any serious suggestions? This is a very difficult subject. I would appreciate any help. I have heard that it is not good for him to eat mostly his dry Purina DM. But this is what he has gravitated to and therefore he urinates alot. Also not good. Too much protein. Does not seem to like the Purina DM wet - pate and savory select so much any more. Please help. Elizabeth

How do you feel about Fancy Feast pate? Or Friskies pate? A ton of members here feed their cats these two. :) I do!

I spent almost 40 years educating myself on reading labels and doing the right thing. I used to look down my nose at Fancy Feast thinking "not in a million years" but when you're on your knees begging a cat "Oh please, just eat something" after a shot nothing works better than the stink of FF. A act won't eat what it can't smell.
I had two cats that ate Safeway Pig Slop (the blue cans of Low Ash) and my wife's cat ate Meow Mix, together they lived to 17, 18 and 23. It's not always about the money. Start with some FF pate and see what happens. Other members will direct you to some of our food guides and what they feed.
Whatever the store clerks tell you it's best to stay away from kibble, something not found in nature.
