Steve,

I am so very sorry to hear about Jock. You and he were so helpful to us exactly two years ago when Jake developed DKA because his vet took him off insulin and wanted to PTS to cover her errors. It was you and others who said that that vet should not be treating diabetic anything, or something like that, and urged me to get Jake out of there into an E.R. which I did. Today, Jake is almost 20 and has been in remission for nearly two years thanks to you. It was at that time I realized the enormity of what you and Jock brought to the feline diabetic world, and we thank you for that. Although not around his group too much lately, we have never forgotten you nor will we. God Speed, Jock! Take good care Steve and Rorschach.

My heart is full of sorrow for you Steve and for Jock. How fortunate it was that you were his daddy for his whole life, always being there for each other. Oh the love you two shared! What a magnificent gift of love Jock was and still is. What maybe years before you see each other again, will be merely seconds for Jock. Fly free beloved Jock! V

((((Steve))))

I haven't been on the boards very often lately and just saw this. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I am not going to say anything else that hasn't been said...there just are no words anyway that can take the place of time.

Just know that I care and am thinking of you in your time of grief.

Hugs~
Caryl

Steve, I'm having difficulty finding words. I'm so very, very sorry. There is and will always be only one Jock. You two were pioneers and have opened the door through which so many others have followed. I'm sure Minivan was there to greet him, as were so many of our other GAs including my Charlie and Chip.

You and Rorschach are and will continue to be in my thoughts.

Fly free, Jock. You've touched far more lives and hearts than you'll ever know.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Words can't express how much we miss them when they are gone. It's not fair that they don't stay longer.

Thanks for all you both have done for us & Take care of yourself.

Hi Steve -

So sorry to have read about your loss. Jock's name came up in a thread I posted, and thought maybe you'd like to be aware - and could even respond at some point: I asked if feline diabetes was hereditary. Ann in Sweden said that Jock was a stud, so I wondered if you'd been in touch with any of his offsprings' beans and if they were found to have FD.

Thanks for any input you may share, and again, my deepest sympathy.

Terribly sorry to hear of your loss. I know words can do little ease the pain, but everyone understands your grief and will share it with you.

They are all waiting for us.

Thank you all so much! The huge number of replies is heartwarming. Jock must have known he was famous. I couldn't read these without crying before, but now it's just an ache.

Rorschach and I are getting along, but he's very unwell too now. Sabina left in 2008. Soon it will be just me. Hoping to gather a new family soon, once I'm established again.

Thank you all again!

Steve you mean SO much to this community...Sending prayers for Rorschach. Its a rough road I know...Please keep us updated. I will keep Rorschach in my prayers.
A forever grateful FDMB'R

Oh Steve,

I'm so very sorry. This is the first time I've checked the board in months and this is so sad to see.

It's because of you and Jock that I started Bert on Levemir. It IS the best insulin ! !

Fly Free Precious Jock. I know you were greeted with wide open paws at The Bridge.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of your wonderful boy.

Bless You Steve.

Felice
